Muzakarah Ulama Aceh 2025 asks the President

“The Aceh Ulama Muzakarah produced a number of important recommendations regarding disaster management, namely the determination of national disasters and strengthening the role of mosques as unifiers of the people,” said Chairman of the Aceh Ulama Consultative Council (MPU), Tgk H Faisal Ali in a written statement, Monday (15/12).
Aceh’s leading cleric, commonly known as Abu Sibreh, also explained that the muzakarah was also combined with a samadiah and prayer together for the victims of floods and landslides in Aceh which was centered in the courtyard of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque.

He explained that this determination was considered important to speed up the handling of victims, restore infrastructure, and open access to international humanitarian aid in a coordinated and accountable manner.
The ulama in Aceh also agreed to ask the Governor of Aceh, Muzakir Manaf (Mualem), together with regents and mayors throughout Aceh to prepare an integrated post-disaster development road map for Aceh, oriented towards disaster mitigation, environmental restoration, strengthening the community’s economy, as well as protecting educational institutions and places of worship.
The ulama also asked the regional government to revise the budget to adjust the needs for handling floods and landslides.
The Acehnese ulama also asked the Central Government to give serious attention through budget support as well as short and long term strategic steps objectively and proportionally according to the level of emergency.
In other recommendations, the ulama emphasized the importance of transparency and trust in the management of humanitarian aid, as well as law enforcement against perpetrators of environmental destruction who contributed to disasters.
The people of Aceh are also advised to strengthen social solidarity, maintain media and social ethics in the midst of disaster, and avoid slander and provocation.
As part of the spiritual endeavor, the ulama invite the entire community to revive mosques, both in areas affected and not affected by the disaster, through joint prayer, worship and socio-religious activities to strengthen the spiritual resilience of the Acehnese people.
The chairman of the Aceh MPU added that the recommendation came from various community figures, especially intellectual figures and non-political circles, so that the Aceh MPU brought together ulama to jointly voice their stance regarding the handling of the flash flood disaster that hit a number of areas in Aceh.
He said the figures hope that the ulama can unite to provide input and encouragement to the Central Government, especially to be more serious and quick in responding to disasters that continue to occur in various regions.
“Submission to the Central Government does not mean giving up or not working. It is a form of recognition that under certain conditions, a disaster that is so big cannot be handled by the regions themselves, so it requires the presence and assistance of the central government,” said Abu Sibreh.
