For this reason, the Aceh Government asked the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to deploy Health Reserve Personnel (TCK) to strengthen the emergency response in areas affected by the hydrometeorological disaster in Aceh.
Aceh Disaster Emergency Response Spokesperson, Murthalamuddin said that the HEOC (Health Emergency Operation Center) or Provincial Health Cluster had been activated as a health crisis management center.
“HEOC is already active and all initial information is handled through Rapid Health Assessment (RHA). However, conditions in the field require additional health personnel. Therefore, we ask for support from the Ministry of Health to deploy TCKs to affected areas,” said Murthalamuddin, Sunday (7/12).
TCKs are special health workers who are mobilized in emergency health crisis situations, such as natural disasters (floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides), non-natural disasters (pandemics, outbreaks of infectious diseases), as well as social emergencies that have a wide impact.
They are tasked with providing minimal health services when local health facilities are overwhelmed or regular resources are inadequate. Therefore, Murthalamuddin, said that his party hopes for additional health workers from the central government.
“We hope that additional health workers from the center can strengthen services in the regions, especially for medical evacuation, services at refugee posts, as well as handling risky diseases during the emergency response period,” added Murthala.
By activating HEOC and intensive coordination with the central government, his party emphasizes its commitment to accelerate crisis management efforts and ensure that affected communities receive adequate health services.
