Absorbing Thousands of Participants, National Internship Program at BNI Reaps Praise

National Internship Program at PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (
BNI
) received praise from the Indonesian Presidential Chief of Staff Muhammad Qodari.
This was revealed by Qodari when directly observing the implementation of the National Internship program in Padang, West Sumatra, on Friday (28/11).Qodari wants to ensure that the program runs optimally and meets its objectives.
During the review, Qodari together with his team and the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower visited the BNI office located on Jalan Ahmad Yani as a bank that absorbs apprentices.

Qodari said that in general, based on dialogue and questions and answers conducted with apprentices and the bank, it was known that the program was running smoothly.Both parties admitted that they received benefits from the national internship program, both from the intern participants and from BNI.
The participants gain work experience, hone hard skills (technical skills) and soft skills (non-technical skills) because they have entered the world of work directly.
Meanwhile, BNI is helped from the personnel side, and gets young talents who can later be recruited as prospective employees with work experience.
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI absorbed 4,103 participants in the 2025 National Internship program, consisting of 3,570 phase I participants and 533 phase II participants.
Of the total 4,103 participants, 88 percent of participants were placed in 205 branch offices and 17 regional offices, while the other 12 percent underwent internships at the head office.
The distribution of participant placement received appreciation from the Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, during a working visit to BNI Head Office.The Minister of Manpower assesses that even distribution of participant placements is an important aspect so that apprenticeships are not only concentrated in big cities.
BNI Putrama President Director Wahju Setyawan said the National Internship program is in line with the needs of the banking industry which continues to develop, especially amidst the acceleration of digital financial services.
He also said that BNI needs adaptive young talent who understands banking business processes, from product marketing, financing, to back office services.
“In the six months of this program, we have obtained a lot of talent who are ready to support BNI’s business expansion, especially in the savings and credit marketing lines which are currently the focus of strengthening the company,” he said in an official statement.
