Dutch media Voetbal Primeur said that up to now there has been no contact between Giovanni van Bronckhorst and PSSI regarding the possibility of coaching the Indonesian national team.

Van Bronckhorst was raised by Indonesian parents.His father has Indonesian and Dutch blood, while his mother is of Maluku descent.
Previously, Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth mentioned Van Bronckhorst and former Canadian national team coach John Herdman as candidates for the Indonesian national team coach to replace Patrick Kluivert.
Sheth even claimed that Herdman had been interviewed by PSSI representatives.Currently, PSSI representatives are in Europe to interview a number of names in the market for potential coaches for the Indonesian National Team.
