Australian Prime Minister,
Anthony Albanese
became the first leader of the Kangaroo country’s government to marry while still in office in the country’s 124 year history.
Albanese married his partner, Jodie Haydon, in a private and intimate ceremony on Saturday (29/11).The event was held at his official residence in Canberra.

, the wedding was held after Albanese proposed to Haydon on Valentine’s Day last year.The date and details of the wedding ceremony were kept secret from the public.

, the couple was married by a civil religious leader in front of 60 guests, including a number of cabinet ministers.Apart from that, no media came to cover the event until it was over.
The couple wrote their own wedding vows and their dog, Toto, was chosen to be the ring bearer.In addition, Haydon’s five-year-old niece was asked to be the flower girl.
“We are thrilled to share our love and commitment to spending our lives together in the future, in the presence of our closest family and friends,” the couple said in a statement.
The 62-year-old man was previously divorced and has an adult son from his marriage to Carmel Tebbutt from 2000 to 2019.
Initially, Albanese and 46-year-old Haydon planned to get married in a bigger event before the final election in May 2025, but those plans were scrapped and they decided to postpone it and have it be held more intimately.
Albanese met the woman who works in finance at a dinner in Melbourne in 2020.
