‘ which is said to be able to cut travel time on the Jakarta-Bandung route to 1.5 hours.
The train project on the route from Gambir Station, Jakarta to Bandung Station has an investment value of IDR 8 trillion.
KDM said the West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jabar) has prepared a financing plan that will be channeled through the West Java Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) worth IDR 2 trillion per year, starting from 2027 to 2030.

This means that the construction time for this project is predicted to be 4 years.
Responding to this, transportation observer Djoko Setijowarno assessed that the Pajajaran Kilat train construction project was a waste.
According to Djoko, the project budget is better for reactivation of the route in Bandung.
“Never mind, no need. That’s just wishful thinking. It’s better to reactivate the route in Bandung,” said Djoko when contacted

Djoko said that the budget of IDR 8 trillion was more useful for building collapsed schools and repairing rural roads in West Java.
“Instead of 8 trillion for Jakarta-Bandung, it would be better to build the schools that are collapsing in West Java. The rural transportation is gone. The roads are bad (in) the villages, that is much more beneficial,” he added.
“For example, Cianjur-Padalarang, that’s useful, right? Then Bandung-Ciwidey, from Garut to Cijulang, right,” explained Djoko.
He reminded that transportation from Jakarta to Bandung already has various options, starting from Whoosh, the Argo Parahyangan train, to travel buses.
“What are you doing from Jakarta to Bandung? You already have a choice, you just have to choose. If you want to go quickly, use Whoosh, half as fast, use the Argo Parahyangan train. If you want to take a private ride, there are tolls, there’s a lot of travel,” said Djoko.
Then, Djoko also said that the people of West Java, especially school children, needed free student transportation more than ever.
“It seems that the only province that doesn’t have free student transportation is West Java. Yes, I have that list. West Java doesn’t have one of them. It’s a shame for me to say that,” explained Djoko.
Djoko estimates that the various substitution programs he is proposing above his budget will be less than IDR 8 trillion.
“Wow, it’s not up to 8 trillion. It’s cheaper, more people use it, right? When traveling to the countryside, in the South Sukabumi, South Cianjur areas, the roads were damaged, right? They were hit by floods. Well, that was repaired. The rural transportation has run out, right? It’s been revived,” he explained.
The West Java Provincial Government officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT KAI, Monday (25/11).
KDM stated that the construction of railway infrastructure is an effort to restore the best transportation civilization in West Java that is environmentally friendly and can reach various areas without damaging the land network.
