Airlangga said this policy aims to ensure the effectiveness of aid distribution and increase financial inclusion from the government.
He said that accelerating bank account ownership was an expansion of access to national finance.
Airlangga explained that currently the level of financial inclusion in Indonesia has reached 92.7 percent.
However, the financial literacy level is only at 66.4 percent.
“However, this figure of 66.64 percent literacy is higher than the average for OECD countries regarding financial literacy, and Indonesia also said that there are 58 million savings from students who already have accounts,” he said.
