Severe floods have hit the White Elephant Country recently.At least 33 people died after heavy rain pounded Thailand for a week.
Tens of thousands of people were also forced to flee to shelter centers.Many residents were also reported to have been trapped by the flood, which had reached a height of two meters.
According to the government, nearly three million people in nine southern provinces of Thailand were affected by the floods.As many as 3,000 people have fled from Hat Yai City, the area most badly affected.
The Thai military had previously prepared to deploy at least 20 helicopters, planes and trucks to deliver food.Some of the aid that will also be sent includes medicine and small boats.
The heavy rain that fell on the ASEAN region occurred when the monsoon blew.The US Climate Prediction Center warns that wetter weather is likely to continue over the next week in Southeast Asia.
Currently, Southeast Asian countries reporting flooding include Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.
