Andi Amran Sulaiman
after his statement in a viral video was deemed not to be true to the facts.
In his clarification video, Rosano emphasized that his initial statement regarding the documents for the 40 tons of rice entering Batam and its connection to the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program was not true.
“I express my deepest apologies to the Minister of Agriculture for my incorrect or inaccurate statement regarding the fact that the Minister did not convey anything regarding imported goods,” he said in the video, Thursday (27/11).

Rosano said the document which he claimed was an official letter from MBG in Tanjung Balai Karimun was not a government document, but rather a piece of media reporting.
“Secondly, regarding the issue of correspondence regarding MBG’s interests in Tanjung Balai Karimun, the letter does not exist and what I saw yesterday, I’m sorry, the letter is a clipping from the media,” he said.
He also corrected his remarks regarding the completeness of ship documents and documents for releasing goods from Batam.According to him, the claim that the document is complete does not correspond to the actual conditions.
“Yesterday there were several documents that were incomplete and I said that the documents were complete even though they were actually incomplete,” said Rosano.
In this clarification, he reiterated that the statements in his first video were not supported by legal documents.
“This is my clarification that what I said in last night’s video was indeed not true and there were some things that were not supported by the existing documents,” he said.
Rosano then apologized to Amran and all the officers tasked with carrying out supervision.
“I, Akhmad Rosano, General Chair of the South Sulawesi Kinship Association, express my highest apologies to all government officials who are involved in overseeing the implementation of President Asta Cita’s program,” he concluded.
Previously, Rosano claimed that the 40 tons of confiscated rice and a number of other goods secured at Tanjung Sengkuang People’s Harbor, Batam, were legal goods and were intended for the MBG program in Karimun Regency.
Batam Customs and Excise (BC) denied this claim because no documents were found showing a connection to the MBG program.
“BC Batam confirms that the items being prosecuted are not commodities for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program,” said BC Batam in a press release.
On the other hand, Amran had previously explained the government’s policy regarding the ban on imported rice in the midst of increasing domestic production.
“President Prabowo has said that no rice should come in from other countries because we have a lot of stock. It is the nation’s honor if we can have food sovereignty,” said Amran.
This case emerged after Amran sealed 40.4 tons of illegal rice in Batam on Monday night (24/11).Along with rice, authorities also seized sugar, cooking oil, flour, milk, perfume, imported noodles and other products
frozen food.
The government assesses that the entry of illegal rice has the potential to disrupt the production enthusiasm of 115 million farmers in Indonesia.
