Fery Amsari stated that there were a series of problems with the newly passed KUHAP, such as its hasty drafting, the loss of the Miranda Rules concept which was predicted at the beginning, and the absence of meaningful participation from civil society.This constitutional law expert also stated that the new KUHAP violates the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the coordination of investigations which should be led by the prosecutor’s office.Fery further stated that the Criminal Procedure Code strengthens the police institution.
