Through this program, BNI distributed financing to VOF Waroeng Padang Lapek (WPL), a restaurant owned by the Indonesian diaspora in the Netherlands.
BNI strengthened WPL’s business expansion by providing a new credit facility worth 228,750 euros or around Rp. 3.9 billion, which was signed on October 15 2025. This facility allows WPL to purchase a central kitchen property that was previously rented, as a strategic step to strengthen its long-term business structure.

The signing of the credit agreement was carried out in the Netherlands and witnessed by Deputy Main Director of BNI Alexandra Askandar, General Manager of BNI London Gandipa Jaya, and Chief Representative of BNI Amsterdam Dwi Wibowo. From the WPL, Suprapti and her husband Tony Ochtman and their son Jordan Syah Antonio Ochtman were present.
“The Diaspora Loan Program is a concrete form of BNI’s support for Indonesian diaspora business actors so that they are able to develop and bring the taste of the archipelago to the global stage,” said Alexandra Askandar in a written statement, last October.
This new financing facility continues the business relationship that has existed between BNI Amsterdam and Waroeng Padang Lapek since November 2022. At that time, BNI first distributed credit of 50 thousand euros or around Rp. 850 million through the same program.
These funds are used to increase production capacity and procure professional kitchen equipment.
Waroeng Padang Lapek itself serves typical Minang culinary delights located at Schoolstraat 35 Grote Markt, Den Haag Centrum. The restaurant has become one of the popular culinary destinations in the city since it was founded in 2020.
The BNI Diaspora Loan program is a strategic initiative designed to support Indonesian diaspora business actors abroad so they can grow sustainably.
Not only does it provide access to financing, the BNI Diaspora Loan program also includes financial education and business assistance, so that diaspora members can manage their businesses professionally and with global competitiveness.
“BNI will continue to support the business potential of the Indonesian diaspora in various countries so that it can grow stronger and become the pride of the nation,” concluded Alexandra.
Through this support, BNI reaffirms its role as a strategic partner for the Indonesian diaspora abroad, not only as a provider of financial services, but also as part of the successful journey of business actors who introduce Indonesian culture and culinary delights to the world.
Support for Waroeng Padang Lapek is clear evidence of how BNI helps the Indonesian diaspora realize their big dreams on the international stage.
