gave an ultimatum to sports federations to win medals on
SEA Games 2025
in Thailand.
At the 2025 SEA Games which will take place from 9 to 20 December, the Indonesian contingent will send 996 athletes.
From this number of athletes, the sports team is expected to gain 80 gold medals so that Indonesia can be ranked in the top three of the 2025 SEA Games medal standings.

Erick hopes that all serious sports will donate medals to fight for the nation’s dignity at the 2025 SEA Games. Erick also gave an ultimatum to sports that are not serious at the SEA Games later.
“I ask all serious sports to bring medals. This event must also be an evaluation. So if it doesn’t meet the target, we will have a relegation promotion,” said Erick at the Kemenpora Building, Jakarta, Friday (21/11).
Erick also revealed that in the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) there are 17 strategic sports that have the potential to win medals.These sports will be a priority in promotion.
“If a sport is not on target, it goes to the independent departure route. This goes to strategic sports, those 17 sports,” said Erick.
“So there is promotion and relegation at DBON so that we are both serious about developing our sport,” added Erick.
By dispatching 996 athletes and targeting 80 gold medals to occupy the top three medal standings at the 2025 SEA Games, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has budgeted IDR 66 billion.
