Several weeks before the 2025 SEA Games take place, the Ministry of Youth and Sports team has completed the medal projection formula.This is needed as a complete picture of the targets that Indonesia wants to target.
Of the sports that have been studied, the U-23 Indonesian National Team is not included in the team that was given a gold medal target.Indra Sjafri’s squad was only given the target of winning a silver medal.

“Football, from the evaluation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports team, if I’m not mistaken, the women’s is bronze and the men’s is not wrong it’s silver, so that’s what was conveyed to us,” said Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Friday (21/11).
The Indonesian U-23 national team came to Thailand with the status of defending champions.In the previous edition, Indra Sjafri’s squad was able to win a gold medal after beating Thailand in the final round.
The success of winning gold was Indonesia’s first winning moment at the SEA Games since they last won in the 1991 edition.
Apart from football, the Ministry of Youth and Sports team has also formulated gold targets for other sports.
“We saw that weightlifting could get 4 gold. Archery could also get 4, then badminton had 2 gold as a target. Then aquatics got 3 gold, judo got 1 gold, taekwondo got 1 gold, cycling had to be broken down first, then athletics got 4 gold, and so on,” said Erick.
The Indonesian contingent will go to Thailand with the mission of winning third place in the 2025 SEA Games final standings. Therefore, the target is to win a gold medal in the 80s.
“Our evaluation results are only in the 80s. This means that in the 80s it is the same target as before to be in third place [final standings],” said Erick.
