Alan Arkin immediately received attention since his first film, The Russians Are Coming (1967), which gave him a Best Actor nomination.However, after a second nomination in 1969, he waited 40 years until he finally won the Oscar as Best Supporting Actor for Little Miss Sunshine (2007).

Jeff Bridges comes from a family of actors and has been acting since childhood.He was first nominated at the age of 22 for The Last Picture Show (1972) as Best Supporting Actor.
Although he continued to be productive for decades, he only won an Oscar in 2010 as Best Actor for his role as a country music star in Crazy Heart after waiting 38 years after his first nomination.

Despite being one of the greatest actors of all time, Al Pacino suffered six consecutive nomination losses, including for his role as Michael Corleone in The Godfather and The Godfather Part II.
In 1993, waiting 20 years after his first nomination, he won Best Actor for Scent of a Woman.
That year he was also nominated as Supporting Actor for Glengarry Glen Ross, making him one of the few actors to receive two nominations in one year.
