“As is known, news about the case involving the RNF, especially on social media, has attracted the attention of many parties. It was reported that the RNF received an offer to become a football player in Medan, but without knowing why it was targeting Cambodia,” said a statement on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website with the title: Not a TIP Victim: Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh Handles Indonesian Football Players Targeting All the Way to Cambodia.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Rizki arrived at the Indonesian Embassy in Phonm Penh at 06.00 local time in good physical and mental health.
“RNF requested the Indonesian Embassy’s facilitation so that he could return to his homeland after leaving the online fraud syndicate where he previously worked,” said the release.
The Indonesian Embassy first received a report from Rizki’s family via the Indonesian Citizen Protection Hotline on November 10 2025. However, the lack of information made it difficult for the Indonesian Embassy to process the whereabouts of the young goalkeeper.
During the search process, the Indonesian Embassy continued to communicate with the family until finally Rizki arrived independently at the Indonesian Embassy this morning.
Allegations that Rizki was a victim of TIP circulated on social media. In the narrative that is widespread in cyberspace, it is stated that he received an offer to become a football player in Medan. However, I don’t know why he arrived in Cambodia.
“After conducting an in-depth investigation by the Indonesian Embassy with the RNF, information was obtained that the person concerned knew from the start that he would be working in Cambodia. However, he did not inform his family,” according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Rizki, they continued, also received information about job vacancies via social media and during the recruitment process he was not under pressure. However, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Rizki was at that time in an online fraud syndicate in Sihanoukville.
“RNF received information about job vacancies via social media and during the recruitment process did not receive any pressure. There was also no physical violence when the person concerned was in the online fraud syndicate in Sihanoukville,” read the statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“These various conditions lead to the conclusion that RNF is not indicated as a victim of TIP,” quoted the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as adding.
Currently, the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh is processing travel documents and coordinating with relevant agencies in Cambodia so that Rizki can immediately return to Indonesia.
The news of the alleged TIP was first revealed by Rizki’s father, Dedi Solehudin.
Dedi said that his son received an offer to play football in Medan. The offer came from his son’s acquaintance on Facebook who claimed to be the club’s management.
Rizki then left on October 26 for Medan, was picked up by travel and taken to Jakarta to then fly to Medan.
“But from Medan it turned out he was taken back to Malaysia, then to Cambodia. At first he was lured into playing football, but then he was taken to work in Cambodia,” he said.
After that, the child told his mother who worked in Hong Kong as an Indonesian Migrant Worker (PMI).Then he gave the news to his father who was in Bandung.
Once in Cambodia, his son, who had joined SSB Hesebah, was immediately left alone and forced to work looking for fraud victims online. Then, if their children do not reach the target, they often receive physical violence.
“My child is tortured every day. The problem is that he can’t find a target victim. So he looks for a rich Chinese person. He has to look for 20 numbers of Chinese people. If he doesn’t get it, he is tortured,” said Dedi about his son, who is also said to have attended Persib training.
