on Tuesday (18/11) British ministers are expected to announce plans on Wednesday (19/11) that will confront resale sites and ticket scalpers for music, theatre, comedy and sporting events.
While fans will still be able to resell event tickets if unable to attend, sales limits will be set at the original ticket price and additional costs will be minimized.
The UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s proposed plan would seek to make resale tickets cheaper by an average of £37 or the equivalent of IDR 814 thousand (£1 = IDR 22,007.45).

So it can save fans a total of £112 million (Rp. 2.4 million) per year.Resale platforms will be legally required to monitor and enforce the new regulations.
Last week, a number of British music stars signed an open letter urging British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to keep his promise to stop ticket touts after the government began a public consultation on the ticket issue at the start of the year.
Lipa, Fender, Coldplay, The Cure, Radiohead and others called on the government to act to “restore confidence in the ticketing system” and “help democratize public access to the arts.”
Recent large-scale concerts, such as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and the Oasis reunion have seen huge price spikes, with used tickets costing thousands of pounds.
The Oasis ticket frenzy even prompted the UK Competition and Markets Authority to open an investigation into Ticketmaster’s compliance with consumer protection laws.
