“He has compensation, to reduce it. If this means there is an agreement and there is a gift. It’s a bribe, to reduce it for a specific purpose,” he told journalists, quoted on Tuesday (18/11).
Anang said this case had also been raised to the investigation stage. This means that investigators are currently collecting evidence to strengthen criminal allegations in this tax case.
Meanwhile, the DJP is still waiting for official information from the AGO regarding this case.Director of Extension, Services and Public Relations DJP Rosmauli said that his party respects the ongoing legal process.
“Currently we are still waiting for official information from the relevant agencies. We will convey further developments when official information is available that can be conveyed to the public,” said Rosmauli in an official statement, Tuesday (18/11) quoted

So can this case be a momentum for Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to clean up DJP?What should he do?
Indonesian Center of Reform on Economics (CORE) researcher Yusuf Rendy Manilet assesses that this case is the right moment for Purbaya to start seriously improving DJP.Incidents like this show that the integrity problem within the DGT is not a case of one or two people, but rather a problem that arises repeatedly.
“So if you wait for a ‘more appropriate’ time, there will never be one. In fact, when the public is paying attention, the momentum for reform is much stronger,” he said to

However, Rendy emphasized that improvements are not enough to be carried out with a cosmetic approach or just replacing a few officials.Purbaya needs to be more aggressive than just calling for discipline.
Rendy said there were four steps Purbaya needed to take.
First
, carry out a thorough audit of areas prone to irregularities, both internal audits and independent audits.
Second
, strengthen the system so that employee discretion becomes smaller. For example, expanding process digitalization, automating certain decisions, and data-based monitoring that can detect anomalies early on.
Third
, the policy of rotating officials in strategic positions needs to be tightened so that there are no long-term relationships that can be exploited for unhealthy practices.
Fourth,
The internal reporting mechanism must be truly safe, so that employees who find irregularities dare to speak up.
“Furthermore, sanctions must be firm, fast and transparent. As long as the wrongdoers are able to escape or are only subject to light sanctions, then practices like this will continue to be repeated,” he said.
Meanwhile, Senior Analyst at the Indonesia Strategic and Economic Action Institution, Ronny P Sasmita, said that the first step that Purbaya needs to take is to ensure that the legal process runs independently without intervention.Transparency in the process is also very important so that public trust is not further eroded.
“Secondly, the DJP must immediately carry out a structured and measurable internal ‘clean-up’. Integrity audits of high-risk units and reviews of all service and supervision processes. Not just looking for individuals, but improving the system that has so far allowed such practices to occur,” he said.
Third, Purbaya needs to strengthen the DJP’s internal control system to be more real-time and data-based.Utilizing technology to detect anomalous patterns in audits, refunds and tax assessment must be a priority.
Fourth, Purbaya needs to reorganize position rotations and integrity-based fit and proper tests more strictly. This step needs to be taken to ensure that sensitive positions are only filled by employees whose track records are completely clean.
Lastly, DJP’s public communication must be more proactive. The public needs to be assured that corrective steps are being taken seriously, not just reacting every time a new case appears.
“If these steps are carried out consistently, I believe this momentum could be a turning point to strengthen DJP’s integrity,” said Ronny.
