Deputy Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Eddy O.S.Hiariej stated that the Draft Law on the Criminal Procedure Code needs to be passed immediately because as of January 2026 the old Criminal Code will no longer apply.According to him, there are many substances in the Criminal Code that are not in the old Criminal Procedure Code which still refers to the previous Criminal Code which is no longer valid.
