“However, this year, in 2025 alone, approximately more than 110 are currently being identified,” said Mayndra at a press conference, Jakarta, Tuesday (18/11).
Mayndra said this was thought to be related to the massive recruitment process carried out through social media and online games.
“So this means we can both conclude that there is a very massive recruitment process carried out through online media,” he said.
Karo Penmas, National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said the hundreds of children ranged in age from 10-18 years and were spread across 23 provinces.
He explained that Densus 88 had made intervention efforts for the 110 children as a preventive measure against the planned terror act.
“The first is intervention against radicalized children who intend to carry out acts of terror in Banten at the end of 2024. The second is intervention against radicalized children who intend to carry out acts of terror in Bali and South Sulawesi in May 2025,” he said.
Then, intervention for 29 children in 17 provinces who intended to carry out acts of terror in September 2025. Then, intervention for children who intended to carry out acts of terror in Central Java in October 2025.
“And fifth, intervention against 78 radicalized children in 23 provinces who intended to carry out acts of terror on November 18 2025. The largest areas were Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java and East Java,” said Trunoyudo.
Previously, the National Police’s Anti-terror Densus 88 had arrested five people whose role was to recruit children and students to join the terrorism network.
Trunoyudo revealed that the suspects recruited children and students by utilizing digital space, starting from social media,
online games
, messaging applications to closed sites.
“As for the mode of distribution, propaganda is carried out in stages. Propaganda is initially disseminated through more open platforms such as FB, Instagram, and
online games
,” he said at a press conference.
