(MbS) departed for
United States
on Monday (17/11).
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said the official visit was expected to discuss issues of security guarantees and access to sophisticated weapons.
This visit is MbS’s first to Washington since the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018, which sparked international outrage and rocked relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States.

“This official visit will include a meeting with President Donald Trump to discuss bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them in various fields, as well as discussing issues of mutual interest,” wrote the Saudi Press Agency in X.
MbS is known to have close ties to Trump and his family.
Relations between the two became even closer after the grand reception and investment commitment of US$ 600 billion when Trump visited Riyadh last May.
Ahead of this visit, Trump emphasized that his administration was working to convince Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords and strengthen ties with Israel.
However, analysts believe that Riyadh will not take this step in the near future.
MBS’ top priority at the moment is believed to be stronger security guarantees from the United States, especially after Israel’s September attack on Qatar raised concerns in the Gulf states about regional stability.
Sources close to the Saudi government told AFP that MBS was scheduled to meet Trump on Tuesday (18/11).
On the sidelines of his visit, a US-Saudi investment forum focusing on energy and artificial intelligence will be held in Washington for three days.
The forum is expected to be a means of promoting major Saudi projects as well as new investment opportunities for US companies, in line with the Crown Prince’s vision of long-term economic transformation.
This visit is seen as an important moment in Riyadh-Washington relations, especially amidst the changing geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East and increasing regional security challenges.
