officially applies permanently.
He explained that so far, MSMEs with a turnover of under IDR 500 million per year have been tax free.Meanwhile, small businesses with a turnover of more than IDR 500 million to IDR 4.8 billion are subject to a tariff of 0.5 percent.
“Permanent (0.5 percent final PPh incentive for MSMEs), so no time limit has been determined. Already, it has been discussed, it has indeed been decided,” stressed Maman after the KUR Policy Committee Meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Central Jakarta, Monday (17/11).

This MSME tax rate is nothing new.The previous regulations were contained in Government Regulation (PP) Number 55 of 2022 concerning Adjustments to Regulations in the Income Tax Sector.
Then, the government decided to extend the incentive until 2029. The Indonesian government ultimately made the 0.5 percent final PPh rate permanent for MSMEs.
Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa also emphasized the same thing, as expressed by Maman.
“The final PPh for MSMEs is still being tidied up, isn’t it being extended until 2029, right? We’ll see what the situation is like. If it’s really MSMEs, it’s not a lie, it should be fine to make it permanent,” explained Purbaya in a Media Briefing at the Ministry of Finance, Central Jakarta, Friday (14/11).
“But we’ll see what it’s like in the next two years. Let me first see what the implementation looks like in the field,” he continued.
