Upin & Ipin
shows the various lives of Upin and Ipin who live in Durian Runtuh Village.There is only one thing that is not depicted in Upin and Ipin’s life, namely their parents.
So far, the pair of bald boys have only been shown living with Kak Ros and their grandmother, Opah.However, Upin and Ipin, who are said to have been born on June 15 1997, actually have parents.
Unfortunately, Upin, Ipin, and Kak Ros’ parents died when the twins were still babies.
There was never any further information regarding the story of Upin and Ipin’s parents dying.However, a number of episodes in the series produced by Les’ Copaque tell a little story about Upin and Ipin’s parents.

Like in the episode entitled My Love and Some of Abah’s Memories.The episode tells the story of the twins finding a room containing vivid memories of their father.
It was revealed that Upin and Ipin’s father’s name was Abdul Salam bin Yusuf.Their father is said to have worked as a soldier and died while carrying out his duties.
In this room, there are leftover items belonging to Upin and Ipin’s father which Opah still keeps neatly, such as his father’s uniform, badge, hat and shoes.
The room also displays family photos showing father, mother, Kak Ros, Upin and Ipin.However, the faces of the twins’ parents were deliberately not shown.
Different from their father, whose origins were told, Upin and Ipin’s mother has never revealed her name or cause of death until now.
However, in the Mother’s Day commemoration episode, Upin and Ipin’s mother was described as a friendly and loving woman.His figure is similar to Opah, he has a mole on his face.
Even though a little of the background story of the twins’ parents has been revealed, Les’ Copaque Production still does not want to show the full characters of Upin and Ipin’s father and mother.
One of the reasons is because from the start, Upin & Ipin was a side project and no longer introduced the twins’ parents, as revealed by the production house on January 17 2022.
“When Upin & Ipin Season 1 was broadcast on TV9, it was just a side project. Due to time constraints and lack of manpower, no new characters were created and LCP decided to make Upin and Ipin orphans,” wrote the studio.
“Similarly, when Upin & Ipin Season 1 was produced, LCP had to cut costs and speed up the production process. Making hair (hair simulation) at that time was too time consuming,” he continued.
“So, Upin and Ipin were designed to be bald, but Upin has a strand of hair.”
