“In the future, we plan to add another new battalion because considering that security disturbances in our area are quite high, the presence of Brimob is really needed,” said Alfred in Timika, Mimika, Sunday (16/11) as quoted from

.
The former Deputy Chief of West Papua Regional Police said that Brimob personnel would later strengthen all police stations in the Central Papua region to help maintain security stability and public order (kamtibmas) to make it more conducive.
Alfred admitted that there were still frequent conflicts in a number of areas in the province, especially with the increase in acts of violence committed by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).KKB is the official name for the Free Papua Organization (OPM) militia.
These conflicts, said Alfred, hampered development programs in several inland districts.
With the addition of Brimob troops in Central Papua, he hopes that the movement of troops to assist the Regional Police when conflict occurs will be much faster.
“Yesterday, when I was still attached to the main Regional Police, the movement of Brimob troops to back up the Regional Police was a little hampered because there were still procedures that had to be followed,” said Alfred.
After the Nabire and Timika Mobile Brigade Battalions were officially handed over to the Central Papua Police, a new symbol (dhuaja) was inaugurated for the Central Papua Police Mobile Brigade Unit with the name “Satya Ingga Mumaiga” or Loyal to the End.
The inauguration was marked by the handing over of the symbol of unity by the Central Papua Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Alfred Papare to the Central Papua Police Mobile Brigade Unit Commander, Police Commissioner Ahmad Nurman Ismail.
