Shogun
officially announced the writer, director, and cast for their second season.This time, a number of new players will appear in the historical drama series.
Some of the new cast for Shogun Season 2 are Asami Mizukawa as Aya, Masataka Kubota as Hyuga, Sho Kaneta as Hidenobu, Takaaki Enoki as Lord Ito and Jun Kunimura as Goda.

Meanwhile, the old players who will reappear in this season are Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis, Fumi Nikaido, Shinnosuke Abe, Hiroto Kanai, Yoriko Doguchi, Tommy Bastow, Yuko Miyamoto, Eita Okuno and Yuka Kouri.
A number of directors from the first season, namely Hiromi Kamata and Takeshi Fukunaga, will return as directors in the second season.
Then one of the creators of this series, Justin Marks, along with Anthony Byrne and Kate Herron will also accompany them in the director’s chair.
Meanwhile, Shogun Season 2 will be written by Rachel Kondo, Marks, Shannon Goss, Matt Lambert, Maegan Houang, Emily Yoshida, Caillin Puente, and Sofie Somoroff.

on Wednesday (12/11), Shogun Season 2 will be set 10 years after the events of the first season and continue the story of two men from different sides of the world but with inherent destinies, John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis) and Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada).
The Shogun series created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks is based on the novel by James Clavell of the same title which was released in 1975. Before it became a series that aired on FX, Shogun was a mini-series in 1980.
The series, which mostly involves a Japanese cast and uses Japanese, received a lot of praise from critics, and won various awards.
One of the awards that Shogun won was the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series and became the first Japanese-language series to win the highest drama series trophy in the United States.

It was noted that the first season of Shogun won 18 categories at the 2024 Emmy Awards and Creative Arts Emmy Awards. This achievement is a new record for a series in one season.
In addition, Shogun Season 1 also received four Golden Globe Awards nominations, including Best Television Series – Drama.
