Adele
will hit the big screen after deciding to take a hiatus from the world of music.Her debut as an actress will be in Tom Ford’s first film in almost a decade, Cry to Heaven.
Adele will star in this film with Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ciaran Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Owen Cooper, and Daniel Quinn-Toye.

on Wednesday (12/11), there were also Hunter Schafer, Josephine Thiesen, Thandiwe Newton, Theodore Pellerin, Daryl McCormack, Cassian Bilton, Hauk Hannenmann, and Lux Pascal.
Tom Ford will act as director, producer and scriptwriter for the film which is adapted from the novel of the same name by Anne Rice in 1982.
Cry to Heaven will be set in Italy in the 18th century and follows two men, a Venetian nobleman and a castrated opera singer.The lives of the two are unexpectedly intertwined.
The project is currently in pre-production in London and Rome.Principal photography will begin in January 2026 and is scheduled for release in fall 2026.
Tom Ford is reportedly self-financing the film and plans to look for investors and buyers once production is complete.This film is his third film after A Single Man in 2009 and Nocturnal Animals in 2016.
Those two long-running films earned Ford Oscar nominations in 2009 and in 2016 for Michael Shannon in Nocturnal Animals.
Cry to Heaven will reunite Ford with Taylor-Johnson after Nocturnal Animals (2016) and with Firth after A Single Man (2009).
In September 2024, Adele signaled a break from the world of music and this time for a “very long” period, after concert residencies in Las Vegas and Germany ended.
“I still have a 10-song concert, but after that, you won’t see me for a very long time, and I will keep you in my heart,” Adele said in front of her fans at her residency concert in Munich, Germany.
He then planned to go on hiatus because he was not preparing a new music project.Adele also intends to work on other creative projects outside of music during this hiatus.
