“We recently summoned the 17 largest accounting firms in Indonesia and asked for their commitment. “They must really uphold accounting principles properly and correctly. If they violate this, we will blacklist them and will not be able to work again, or will no longer be able to become auditors in any BUMN,” he continued.
Agus said this was one of the steps to transform BUMN, especially through the governance transformation pillar which is a comprehensive program to build integrity, transparency and accountability at all levels of the organization.
According to Agus, governance transformation is not just about compliance with regulations, but about building a culture of ethics and trust as the foundation for long-term sustainability.
In the context of BUMN, he added, good governance is not just an administrative requirement, but a symbol of credibility in the eyes of the public and investors, including ensuring BUMN adopts best business practices that refer to international benchmarks.
He explained that credible financial reports and integrity continue to be upheld. Each BUMN is gradually ensured to have a clear work structure to ensure accountability and work measurement runs effectively.
Agus also introduced other transformation pillars, such as business transformation through restructuring and streamlining BUMN.
Agus said that the number of BUMNs owned by the Republic of Indonesia reached 1,045, covering seven layers or layers from the parent, children, grandchildren to the company’s udheg-udheg.This results in inefficient and uncompetitive operational management.
“There is overlap and competition between BUMNs, even fellow BUMNs within one parent,” said Agus.
Therefore, BUMN streamlining is projected to reduce the number of thousands of companies to only around two hundred. The transformation is executed as a whole or not piecemeal.
The next pillar is service transformation, carrying the theme ‘Serving Wholeheartedly’.Danantara redefines, reminds, controls, ensures, all BUMNs are improving their services day by day.
“Awareness that every BUMN employee, that every BUMN is here to provide the best service, service to customers, service to the country,” he said.
The final pillar is leadership transformation which includes professionalism and nationalism.
Professionalism means leaders who work with competence, work standards and high ethics.Have the orientation and ambition to produce the best quality work, go beyond just carrying out tasks, and be able to maintain good ethics and moral principles.
Temporary nationalism is a leader who lives it deeply, not about position.Power is not the final goal, but a great mandate from God to serve the nation and state, for Indonesia.
“We imagine, by analogy, that one day all the BUMN leaders in Danantara will be the incarnation of the predecessors of this Republic, the fighters who sacrificed their wealth, lives and souls for Indonesian independence,” he concluded.
