Garuda Muda, as Indonesia U-23 is known, lacks a controlling figure in the middle and a spearhead up front.Because of this, Jenner and Zijlstra’s presence is very vital.
Previously, when Indonesia U-23 was still being coached by Gerrald Vanenburg, attacking midfielders were their weak point.Moreover, when Arkhan Fikri was injured, there was no substitute.

Other players, whether placed as attacking or defensive midfielders, are less able to regulate the rhythm of the game.This is what Indra Sjafri is trying to fix.
Jenner could at least be an alternative or even the main choice.Even though his main position is defensive midfielder, this 21 year old player can also be a regulator.
This season, with FC Utrecht U-21, Jenner appeared 12 times.From a total of 463 minutes played in the 2025/2026 Keuken Kampioen Division, Jenner scored one goal.
In those 12 matches, Jenner played more as a central midfielder and not a defensive midfielder.
Meanwhile, Zijlstra is included in FC Volendam’s main squad.However, so far Zijlstra has not received any playing minutes.Because of this, Zijlstra is occasionally demoted to U-21 level.
So far Zijlstra has been on the list of players in the 2025/2026 Eredivisie six times.Meanwhile, with Volendam U-21, Zijlstra appeared twice and scored three goals.
Even though he has not yet appeared in the highest caste, Zijlstra’s quality for his age level is quite mature.He played twice, in those two matches he scored two goals.
Because of this, Zijlstra has the potential to be a solution to Indonesia’s dull U-23 front line.Previously, in a test match against India U-23, Dony Tri Pamungkas scored a goal.
