In an upload on Instagram on Saturday (8/11), the studio displayed a distinctive photo silhouette of Chairil Anwar smoking in the composition of the poet’s poems.

on Monday (10/11), this film was said to highlight the figure of Chairil Anwar “not only as a writer, but as a human being who loves, rebels and lives with all his might.”
“With this Chairil Anwar project, Falcon Pictures once again confirms its commitment to presenting stories that are not just entertaining,” wrote the studio.
“But it also brings to life the nation’s collective memory of the word, of courage, and of the man who wrote his life in eternal ink.”
Born on July 26 1922 in Medan, Chairil Anwar is one of Indonesia’s legendary poets.He is recorded as having produced 96 works, including 70 poems.
Many of Chairil Anwar’s works have themes of rebellion, death, individualism, existentialism, love and often have multiple interpretations.
This theme may have been influenced by Chairil’s life growing up during colonialism and World War 2, as well as being influenced by a number of Chairil’s favorite writers, such as Rainer Maria Rilke, W.H.Auden, Archibald MacLeish, Hendrik Marsman, J. Slaurhoff, and Edgar du Perron.
Chairil Anwar and his mother moved to Batavia in 1940 after his mother separated from his father.It was in this city that Chairil became acquainted with the world of literature.He is also able to master a number of foreign languages, such as English, Dutch and German, even though he did not finish school.

Chairil Anwar’s name became famous in the world of literature after releasing Nisan in 1942, when he was 20 years old.Chairil Anwar together with Asrul Sani and Rivai Apin were named by HB Jassin as the pioneers of the Class of ’45 as well as modern Indonesian poetry.
Chairil Anwar died on April 28 1949 after experiencing a number of illnesses such as typhus which were thought to be related to the lungs and was treated at the CBZ Hospital (Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital).
