Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa set foot in the United States on Saturday (8/11), a day after Uncle Sam’s country removed him from the terrorism blacklist.

This official visit is Al Sharaa’s first visit to the US.This visit was also the first visit by a Syrian president to Uncle Sam’s country since independence in 1946.
Sharaa is scheduled to meet President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday.The two of them will discuss various collaborations including plans to build a US military base in Damascus.
Japan Hit by Small Tsunami After M 6.9 Earthquake
Small tsunami waves hit the coast of northern Japan on Sunday (9/11) after an earthquake measuring 6.9 magnitude rocked waters off the coast of Iwate Prefecture.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said the first tsunami was detected in Miyako City at around 17.37 local time, but its size was too small to be measured.
Shortly thereafter, the ports of Kuji and Ofunato in the same region reported waves of around 20 centimeters high, while several other ports in Iwate Prefecture also recorded similar small waves.
Türkiye Releases Arrest Warrant for PM Netanyahu Accused of Genocide
Türkiye issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials on charges of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.
Istanbul General Prosecutor’s Office issued arrest warrants for 37 people on Friday (7/11).They include Netanyahu;Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir to Military Commander Eyal Zamir.
“Based on the evidence obtained, it has been established that officials of the State of Israel bear criminal responsibility for the systematic acts of ‘crimes against humanity’ and ‘genocide’ committed in Gaza, as well as for the acts committed against the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) fleet,” according to an official statement from the Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office,” quoted by Anadolu Agency.
