“The water receded not long ago, less than two hours. Ilham said that during subsequent flooding due to heavy rainfall last night, Wednesday (24/12), water rose in the Lampahan and Bantul areas, but the condition did not affect local traffic.
“As a response step, this morning normalization of the river was carried out, so that if it rains again it won’t flood houses and roads,” he said.
According to Ilham, based on information received from the Bener Meriah Transportation Service, the access road that was flooded in Tenge Besi is now passable and welcomed by the public.
The Takengon-Bireuen section is a strategic connecting route between regions which has an important role in supporting community mobility and the smooth distribution of goods and services.
However, he continued, the Bener Meriah Transportation Service appealed to all road users to remain vigilant.
The reason is, along this road there are still a number of points where the surface condition is not completely stable and requires further treatment. Moreover, there has been an increase in traffic volume since road access was reopened.
On the other hand, added Ilham, based on information from the Bener Meriah Transportation Service, access from North Aceh to Bener Meriah Regency via the KKA road section is also passable by vehicles.
However, the implementation of the road opening and closing system is still being implemented temporarily, considering that there are still several Wih Pase points which are in the process of being handled by the disaster management team.
As part of efforts to accelerate repairs, and to ensure the safety of road users, the KKA road section is temporarily still closed from 07.00 WIB to 18.00 WIB.
The Bener Meriah Regency Government urges the public not to force travel, to always follow official and up-to-date information regarding traffic conditions.
“Prioritize safety when crossing these routes, until road conditions are declared completely safe and normal,” said Ilham.
