The extension of the disaster emergency response status is stated in the Decree of the Governor of North Sumatra Number 188.44/906/KPTS/2025 which was signed on Wednesday 24 December 2025.

“The extension of the emergency response status is carried out for 7 days starting from 25 December 2025 to 31 December 2025,” the decree was quoted as saying.

Bobby also assigned the emergency management team for floods, landslides and earthquakes in the North Sumatra region and related regional agencies and apparatus to continue handling it.
“Handling emergency response situations and conditions in the context of rescue services, evacuation of disaster victims, disaster management and management as well as recovery in areas affected by disasters,” he said.
Disaster management is carried out while still adhering to the applicable laws and regulations within a unified Command for Emergency Response for Floods, Landslides and Earthquakes in North Sumatra in 2025.
“The costs arising as a result of the stipulation of this Governor’s Decree are borne by the North Sumatra APBN (State Revenue and Expenditure Budget), North Sumatra APBD (Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget) and North Sumatra P-APBD (Amendments to the Provincial Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget) for the 2025 Fiscal Year as well as other legal and non-binding funding sources in accordance with statutory provisions,” he said.
