Flood victims
in the Sumatra region will receive assistance of at least IDR 8 million per head of family (KK) from the government.
This assistance is to meet basic needs while supporting the economic recovery of residents affected by the disaster.
This policy was discussed in a meeting between Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf alias Gus Ipul at the Cabinet Secretariat Office.

Assistance of IDR 8 million per family for flood victims in Sumatra consists of IDR 3 million for household needs and IDR 5 million for economic recovery.
Apart from the cash assistance, the government also distributes supporting assistance in the form of 10 kilograms of rice per month, money for side dishes of IDR 300 thousand to IDR 450 thousand per month, construction of temporary and permanent housing, as well as waiting money for housing of IDR 600 thousand.
Apart from assistance for affected residents and refugees, the government has also prepared special compensation, namely IDR 15 million for victims who died and IDR 5 million for victims of serious injuries.
The government also ensures that the distribution of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) runs simultaneously.Regular BLT is given in the amount of IDR 200 thousand per month, as well as additional BLT for three months with a total of IDR 900 thousand, targeting around 35 million heads of families or the equivalent of 120 million people.

All aid and compensation will be distributed directly by the Ministry of Social Affairs based on data and local government approval to ensure that assistance is received by the entitled parties.
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) noted that the impact of floods and landslides in Sumatra is still significant.As of Tuesday (23/12), the total death toll reached 1,112 people in three provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
In detail, Aceh recorded 483 people, North Sumatra 369 people, and West Sumatra 260 people.
Apart from that, the number of missing victims was recorded at 176 people, while the number of refugees reached 498,447 people, although this figure is starting to decline compared to the previous day.
The central and regional governments continue to distribute logistical support, including clothing and food needs, for refugees in the affected areas.
