, Aceh extends the emergency response period
flood and landslide disasters
for seven days, starting from 24 to 30 December 2025.
This decision was taken after a rapid study of the current conditions in the field and coordination with elements of the Bener Meriah Regency Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

Head of the Bener Meriah Hydrometeorological Disaster Management Post Data and Information Center, Ilham Abdi, said the extension was carried out to ensure that emergency management runs optimally amidst conditions that have not yet fully recovered.
“The extension of the emergency response period is the result of a rapid study and coordination with Forkopimda, taking into account that there are still two sub-districts that are difficult to access by land, namely Mesidah and Syiah Utama sub-districts, as well as several villages that are also still isolated,” said Ilham, Tuesday (24/12).
During the extension period, his party continues to intensify emergency management, starting from protecting affected residents, fulfilling basic needs, to strengthening cross-sector coordination to minimize the risks and subsequent impacts of disasters.
This extension is the third time.Previously, the emergency response status had been extended for the second time for the period 10 to 23 December 2025 and ended today.
“We urge the public to remain patient in facing this ordeal, the government continues to do its best to handle it,” he said.
Data from the Bener Meriah disaster emergency response post updated Monday (22/12) at 18:00 WIB, there are still 35,611 residents who are still isolated.They are spread across 58 villages in six sub-districts.
The isolated sub-districts are Mesidah, Syiah Utama, Pintu Rime Gayo, Gajah Putih, Permata and Timang Gajah.Then 166 bridges were damaged and 81 roads were damaged.
30 people died and 14 are still missing.Currently, the total number of refugees in Bener Meriah is 5,974 spread across 43 points.
