Deputy IV of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Surono, said that there would be punishments for
U-23 Indonesian National Team
and sports that failed to win medals at the 2025 SEA Games.
“We have mapped it out, there are several sports that are indeed, one is not according to the target. The second is a sport that is according to the target, there are even sports that are more targeted.”

Surono said that there were several sports that could not meet the target.One of them is the U-23 Indonesian National Team from soccer which failed to meet its silver medal target.
The government, in this case the Ministry of Youth and Sports, is certain to take steps.As for the form of further steps, the form of sanctions that will be given cannot yet be determined.
However, said Surono, one of the sanctions that will be given is no longer funding national training (pelatnas) for sports that fail to meet these targets.
“We will convey the specifics later, but for us the most important thing now is how to maintain the unity of all sports,” he explained.

In the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, Indonesia won 91 gold, 111 silver and 131 bronze.The achievement of this medal exceeds the target set by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
