) has just released the latest method for calculating Decent Living Needs (KHL) which is the benchmark
salary
laborer or
workers
in 38 provinces in Indonesia.
KHL is a one-month standard requirement so that workers or laborers and their families can live a decent life.Therefore, the calculation of the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) is always directed so that it can approach the benchmark for a decent life in each province.
“The calculation of Decent Living Needs now uses a method based on ILO standards, taking into account the main components of household needs,” wrote the Ministry of Manpower in an Instagram post @kemnaker, Sunday (21/12).

With this new method, the highest KHL calculation result was in DKI Jakarta province amounting to IDR 5,898,511.In line with the 2025 UMP, the highest reaches almost IDR 5.4 million per month.
The second highest decent living calculation result is in the East Kalimantan region amounting to IDR 5,735,353 and the next position and in the Riau Islands IDR 5,717,082.
Furthermore, the highest KHL is in Papua, South Papua, Central Papua and Mountain Papua with IDR 5,314,281 each.Then, in Bali it was recorded at IDR 5,253,107.
Meanwhile, the lowest decent living value calculation results were in the East Nusa Tenggara region at IDR 3,054,508 and West Sulawesi at IDR 3,091,442.
The government has determined that the 2026 UMP increase formula uses the Inflation + (Economic Growth x Alpha) formula with an Alpha range of 0.5 – 0.9.The Governors will announce the results no later than December 24, 2025.
