This film tells the story of those who cling to the last glimmer of hope for humanity, struggling to survive in an apartment building that was submerged by the Earth being hit by a major flood.

The Great Flood
follows Gu An-na (Kim Da-mi), an AI development researcher who lives with a boy named Shin Ja-in.At that time, heavy rain poured down on his apartment area and the water in the surrounding river was already high.
The heavy rain showed no signs of stopping.An-na decides not to go to the office and stays in her apartment with Ja-in doing activities.

However, he suddenly saw water starting to enter his apartment unit.The water apparently came from outside and entered through the window of the apartment unit.
It turned out that the flood had submerged the second and third floors of the apartment complex.So, all residents who were still in the unit were asked to evacuate immediately.
In the midst of this situation, An-na received a telephone call stating that they would help her evacuate because her apartment unit was soon submerged.An-na was asked to leave the unit with Ja-in to move to a higher location.
Unfortunately, before the clear information was received, electricity and communication access were cut off.An-na only took important things, such as the medicine that Ja-in needed.
In the midst of the panic, An-na and Ja-in apparently couldn’t go straight to a higher floor.They had to deal with other residents who were trying to save themselves.
The rain did not stop and the flash floods were getting higher.The situation worsened because the water from outside suddenly moved like a wave that broke into the apartment and separated An-na and Ja-in.
During that difficult time, An-na met Son Hee-jo (Park Hae-soo) who was a member of the human resources security team. He had a mission to save An-na from a dangerous disaster that threatened the safety of humanity.
However, the motive behind An-na’s rescue efforts is still a mystery.Because, Hee-jo didn’t mention the reason at all when he helped An-na and Ja-in leave the location.
The Great Flood is a film made by director Kim Byung-woo (The Terror Live, Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy) based on a script he wrote.
The Great Flood airs December 19 on Netflix.
