Malaysian football observer Zulakbal Abd Karim is sure

will issue additional penalties to
FAM
which was proven to have violated the rules for naturalized players.
Not long ago, FIFA imposed additional punishment on FAM due to the case of fake documents for seven naturalized Malaysian national team players.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee canceled three results from Malaysia’s international matches.Harimau Malaya was declared to have lost 0-3 to Singapore, Palestine and Cape Verde.

Zulakbal predicts that AFC will also follow FIFA’s lead if the appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) does not go in FAM’s favor.
“We are quite prepared to face another possibility (the decision to cancel the friendly match by FIFA) because if FIFA says that the seven players are invalid, then the result of the match will also be invalid,” said Zulakbal, quoted by Bharian.
The Senior Lecturer in Coaching Science at the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) hopes that all parties can learn from the fatal mistakes made by FAM.
Zulakbal is also not surprised by FIFA’s decision and is just waiting for additional sanctions from the AFC.
“We must all be prepared for the possibility of further punishment after this, because the AFC will definitely follow their ‘father’, FIFA. So if FIFA has imposed punishment, they will follow suit.”
“Whatever happens, our football must ‘bounce back’, rebuild its strength to face the future. I hope all fans, sponsors, leaders and players remain calm and think about ways to recover from this fall. That is more important,” said Zulakbal.
Malaysia also faces the risk of canceling their wins over Nepal and Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers because they fielded seven of their naturalized players.The possibility of Malaysia winning will also be given to the opposing team.
