FAN is a resident of Tiris District, Probolinggo Regency, whose body was found in the river on Jalan Raya Purwosari Pasuruan, Wonorejo District, Pasuruan Regency.

“The alleged US perpetrator has been upgraded and named a suspect,” said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, Thursday (18/12).
Jules said the suspect was identified after investigators examined a number of witnesses and confiscated the victim’s cell phone.Finally, two pieces of evidence were sufficient.
“The East Java Police Criminal Investigation Unit has examined 6 witnesses and has also found two cellphones belonging to the victim,” he said.
Jules said that the suspect AS has now been detained at the East Java Regional Police detention center since Wednesday (17/12).
“Since yesterday, December 17 2025, the suspect AS has been detained at the East Java Regional Police Detention Center,” he said.
However, Jules could not reveal further about the role and motive of the US in carrying out the FAN murder.Likewise regarding the cause of the victim’s death.
“So far, because it is still in progress, the investigation process is ongoing, so we will update developments regarding other perpetrators who are still in the process and other evidence that we have carried out. The results of the autopsy are not yet in progress,” he said.
On the other hand, said Jules, investigators are also still pursuing other perpetrators who are suspected of being involved in FAN’s murder.
“So far, investigators are still pursuing other perpetrators,” he said.
Apart from arresting AS, the evidence confiscated included vehicles, clothes and cellphones belonging to the perpetrator and the victim.
“Of course the means used by the alleged perpetrators were the suspect’s vehicle, then there was the victim’s cellphone, as well as the clothes worn by both the victim and the suspect,” he said.
Previously, a UMM student, FAN (21), a resident of Tiris District, Probolinggo Regency, died and his body was found in the river on Jalan Raya Purwosari Pasuruan, Wonorejo District, Pasuruan Regency, Tuesday (16/12).
Since FAN’s body was discovered, the police have taken several actions, starting from receiving reports, investigating the crime scene, then taking the victim to Bhayangkara Hospital for identification and autopsy.
Furthermore, the police have also examined witnesses who found the body or were aware of the incident.They also collected evidence related to the incident.
The police also arrested AS, a member of the Probolinggo Police, who was suspected of being involved in the alleged murder of FAN.Koni investigators are still pursuing other perpetrators because they are said to have not acted alone.
