Freddy explained that security was focused on places of worship, vital and strategic objects, and busy centers.
“Land, sea and air transportation routes, to ensure the safety and comfort of the community during Christmas,” he said.
Freddy ensured that all TNI units in the regions were operationally ready, and increased preparedness and coordination across sectors so they could respond to any developments in the situation during Christmas.
“In line with BMKG predictions, the TNI is also alerting soldiers to anticipate and handle disasters, including floods, landslides and extreme weather, through coordination with related agencies,” he said.
Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Department (Dishub) estimates that the peak flow of homecoming during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holidays will fall on 19 and 20 December 2025.
“Because the school holidays started on December 22, so usually as soon as the school holidays start, on Friday there will be a surge at terminals in Jakarta,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, as quoted by Antara, Thursday.
For this reason, he said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) had made various preparations ahead of the Christmas and New Year transportation period, including by holding roadworthiness checks (ramp checks) on vehicles that would operate and checking the readiness of bus departure terminals.
“The hope is that the entire fleet operating at the four AKAP terminals in Jakarta, namely Pulo Gebang Terminal, Kampung Rambutan, Kalideres and Tanjung Priok, will meet the technical requirements and be roadworthy,” said Syafrin.
