reported on Tuesday (16/12) that the soldier, a tracker serving in the regular military service.
He shot himself inside the base, and was seriously injured until he was pronounced dead on Tuesday (16/12) evening.
Previously, the Israeli military said a soldier was seriously injured by gunfire at a military base in northern Israel.

The military also added that military police had opened an investigation into the incident.
On October 28 this year, an official Israeli report published by the Knesset Research and Information Center revealed that as many as 279 soldiers had attempted suicide since the beginning of 2024.
The report compiled at the request of Knesset member Ofer Cassif stated that data on suicide attempts was recorded during the period January 2024 to July 2025.
Meanwhile, Israel’s official public broadcaster said the data showed an average of seven suicide attempts for every one confirmed suicide.
