This assistance was distributed by the Aceh Besar Regency Ministry of Religion Office.In total, around 10 tonnes of humanitarian aid for flood victims was distributed to the Aceh region, focused on Aceh Tamiang District, North Aceh, East Aceh and Langsa City.
Head of the Aceh Besar Ministry of Religion Office, H Saifuddin SE, Tuesday, 16 December 2025 hopes that this assistance can help meet the basic needs of victims during the disaster emergency response period which has been extended by the Aceh Government until 25 December.

“We are sorry for this flood disaster. The Aceh Besar Care Ministry of Religion team has started a safari to distribute aid from 12-15 December 2025, taking the Subulussalam – Sidikalang, North Sumatra road access to Aceh Tamiang,” said Head of the Aceh Besar Ministry of Religion H Saifuddin SE in his statement, Thursday (18/12).
The assistance packaged through the Ministry of Religion of Aceh Besar Cares consists of various basic needs.These include 2.5 tons of rice, 3 tons of suitable clothing, 1,000 cans of ready-to-eat tuna, 8,000 packs of dry bread, 4,000 packs of instant noodles, 150 cartons of packaged milk, 100 cartons of mineral water, blankets, underwear, sanitary napkins and children’s diapers.
Yahwa – Saifuddin’s nickname – said the areas where aid was distributed were in poor condition.Apart from damage to residential areas, floods also have an impact on public facilities, agricultural land, and claim lives.
In Aceh Tamiang, the Ministry of Religion of Aceh Besar distributed aid to Lubuk Sidup Village, Sekerak District, which is a remote area.Road access was damaged due to flooding, so the team had to travel for about two hours using four wheels to get there.
The condition of the local village was badly damaged after the flood.The houses belonging to 160 families there were completely leveled, the bridge was broken, only the building of the Nurussalam Mosque remained, surrounded by logs left by the flood.
“According to the village head of Lubuk Sidup, the flooding started here on Wednesday (26/11/2025), road access was cut off, leaving them isolated for 11 days. It’s only been a few days since cars have been able to come in to deliver aid,” said Yahwa.
Yahwa said that for the flood victims in Langsa and East Aceh, the Aceh Besar Care Ministry Team is entrusting humanitarian assistance through the respective regional Ministry of Religion offices.
In North Aceh, Yahwa led the direct distribution of aid in seven villages in Tanggaan District and one village in Jamboe Ayee.Covering Geudumbak Village, Simpang Tiga, Alue Krak Kaye, Tanjong Jawa, Padang Meuriya, Matang Teungoh Selatan, Matang Reubek and Pucok Alue Village, Jamboe Ayee District, North Aceh.
“I went to Tamiang, to Tanggaan, everything was completely destroyed. People’s houses were flattened by the flood. Hopefully our brothers and sisters here will continue to receive quick post-disaster treatment and recovery, especially to meet their basic needs,” he said.
Yahwa said that most of this assistance came from ASN donations from the Aceh Besar Ministry of Religion Office through the Ministry of Religion Abes Peduli, in the form of cash, suitable clothes and basic necessities.
“There are also members of the general public who entrust their aid through us. We want to be there directly to help others, even with all the limitations,” he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Religion of Aceh Besar had also distributed clothing and food assistance to victims affected by floods in Pidie Jaya Regency.In the future, the distribution of aid is planned to reach the central region of Aceh which was also quite badly affected.
“Central areas of Aceh such as Bener Meriah and Central Aceh were also heavily affected, but still have problems with road access. In the future, that will be the target for distributing our aid,” he concluded.
