ordered all governors to determine and announce the Provincial Minimum Wage (
UMP
) 2026 no later than December 24, 2025.
Yassierli said it was sufficient for regional heads to determine the amount of the UMP increase in the next week.This is because the formulation has not changed and has been leaked since last month.
“Each governor announced a deadline of December 24 2025. Nothing has changed from the formula that wage increases are equal to inflation plus economic growth times alpha,” he said in a press conference at his office, Wednesday (17/12).

In the new regulations, the 2026 UMP increase formula uses the Inflation + (Economic Growth x Alpha) formula with an Alpha range of 0.5 – 0.9.This is different from last year, where alpha used a range of 0.1 to 0.3 points.
“One week (is enough to calculate the amount) because the process doesn’t actually start from zero now. So, we have been coordinating for more than a month, we have discussed with the Provincial Wage Council and some of the estimates were already there beforehand,” he explained.
The 2026 UMP rules will be stipulated in a new Government Regulation (PP) and have been signed by President Prabowo Subianto.Currently, this regulation is waiting to be promulgated by the Ministry of Law.
“And hopefully this PP will be the best result, how do we consider the aspirations of work unions, labor unions by also paying attention, considering input from industry and we hope this is the best and we can use it as a benchmark,” he concluded.
