2025 was officially announced at the FIFA Celebration Dinner in Doha, Qatar, Tuesday (16/12) evening WIB.The following are three players who are on the top list of winners of the 2025 FIFA Puskas Award.
The three players are Santiago Montiel from Argentinian club Independiente, Declan Rice from Arsenal, and Lamine Yamal from Barcelona.Meanwhile, Persija Jakarta player Rizky Ridho was nominated for the most beautiful goal or Puskas Award but ultimately did not make it into the top three final lists.
The 2025 Puskas Award was finally won by Santiago Montiel.The 25 year old player received a total of 21 points, namely 13 from the panelists and 8 points from the fans.

He beat Declan Rice who got a total of 17 points, namely six points from the panelists and 11 points from the fans.Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal is in third place with a collection of 17 points, namely eight from panelists and nine from fans.
Santiago Montiel received the Puskas Award thanks to his overhead goal for Argentinian club Independiente against Independiente Rivadavia.
This goal was created in the Argentine Liga Profesional de Fútbol match, May 2025. This right-back player fired a hard left-footed shot from outside the penalty box.

The determination of the FIFA Puskas Award winner is assessed in several stages.First voted on by fans through a net poll and FIFA Legends panel.
Each individual was asked to rank their version of one to three best goals from the 10 nominations.The first chosen gets a value of 10, the second choice three, and one for the third choice.
The points from this election are then added up and calculated as 50 percent of the total votes.Then from this selection it goes to the final list of three nominees.Well, Montiel got the highest score from the assessment system.
This also means that Montiel’s goals beat a number of candidates such as Lamine Yamal and Declan Rice.
The Puskas Award is named in honor of Ferenc Puskás, a Hungarian football legend known for his spectacular goals and incredible productivity.
This award, which has existed since 2009, is given for the most beautiful goal scored in a calendar year.
