Agus added that the current service capacity is not yet commensurate with the high demand for passport services.
“This problem occurs because the increase in service capacity has not been commensurate with the high demand for passport services,” explained Agus
In his presentation, Agus also explained the reasons behind the high demand for passports now.According to Agus, previously the majority of passport services were only for Hajj and Umrah travel.
“The paradigm of passport applicants has changed. Previously, the majority of people applied for passports to perform the Hajj and Umrah,” he said.
However, this surge occurred due to the phenomenon of high numbers of migrant workers abroad and the large number of Indonesian citizens who wanted to vacation abroad.
“However, currently there is a phenomenon of high demand for Indonesian migrant workers abroad, and various easy tourism policies set by other countries to attract tourists from Indonesia to vacation there,” he said.
