“What’s the matter, why is the TNI involved in occupying a mine that is suspected of being controlled illegally, when the case is still pending at the PTUN and is being investigated by the Police Criminal Investigation Unit,” said Li in an official statement, Tuesday (16/12).
Li confirmed that there were Chinese citizens who were technical staff at PT SRM flying
drones
in the company’s mining area.
However, he denied that there was an attack on TNI members from the 6th Combat Engineer Battalion/Satya Digdaya.
“It’s not a military area or a prohibited area. Why can’t you fly drones in your own mining area? So there are parties who don’t like it, foreigners who operate drones until finally their drones and cellphones are confiscated,” he said.
According to Li, after the equipment was confiscated, the drone recordings were deleted, then the drone and cellphone were returned. He said that the technical staff of Chinese foreigners were in a state of fear when the incident took place.
“At the time of the incident, our technical staff were even in a state of fear because their drones and cellphones were immediately confiscated by them. Who isn’t afraid of the soldiers, but what are their interests there? We don’t know either,” he said.
Li emphasized that Imran Kurniawan, who claimed to be PT SRM’s Chief Security Officer, was not the party responsible for the company. He stated that Imran had been occupying and operating PT SRM’s gold mining facilities illegally.
“Imran Kurniawan and his gang are being investigated by Bareskrim Polri and are suspected of carrying out illegal occupation by making fake articles of association and fake registration at the Directorate General of AHU. He is not a PT SRM staff or officer,” said Li.
Regarding accusations of carrying sharp weapons, airsoft guns, and even stun guns, Li said the narrative did not match the facts.
“SRM China staff have never committed illegal acts, including damaging SUVs and have never carried illegal weapons,” he said
He also stated that he was not aware of any company vehicles that were seriously damaged, and emphasized that the double cabin car with plate number L 8939 BE which was at the location did not belong to PT SRM.
Currently, according to Li, the legal process is still ongoing and the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating allegations of illegal occupation, destruction and theft of company assets.
“Imran supports the criminal Liu Xiaodong who is currently undergoing legal proceedings and has been named a suspect by the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit in connection with the theft of dynamite and electricity as well as SRM assets,” he said.
Meanwhile, TNI Headquarters stated that they were still collecting and verifying information regarding the alleged attack.
Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen) Major General (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah said that his party had not yet received complete data regarding the chronology or number of victims.
“Regarding this information, currently the TNI is still collecting and verifying data in the field,” said Freddy when confirmed, Monday (15/12).
“There is no comprehensive information regarding the chronology or number of victims. We will convey further developments once the data is complete and confirmed,” he added.
Separately, Tumbang Police Chief Titi Iptu Made Adyana confirmed that there had been a commotion incident in the mining area, but said that the current conditions were conducive.
“Until now the situation is conducive,” he said.
A total of 15 Chinese citizens were suspected of being involved in a commotion in the gold mining company area in Tumbang Titi District, Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan, on Sunday (14/12).
In the initial information, there are allegations of damage to vehicles and attacks on TNI members, as well as claims of the use of sharp weapons,
