The 19 year old skateboarder was the winner in the men’s skateboard street event at SAT Extreme Sports Park, Sunday (14/12).
Basral secured gold by collecting 166.67 points, ahead of two Thai athletes, Send Petkiree, who won silver with 153.22 points and Sianggoueng Thawatchai, who was in third place with 152.31 points.

After Basral performed the last trick, the happiness was clearly visible on the face of the young man born in Tangerang who grew up in Karanganyar.
There is a story that made Basral emotional after successfully completing the movement and landing smoothly.
“I failed on the first and second attempts, then the third one ended up landing because of that trick because I was looking for that trick,” explained Basral in a social media upload on Team Indonesia’s Instagram account.

The moment of Basral’s victory went viral because there were Filipino athletes and one of the Malaysian coaches who celebrated his victory.
Apart from that, there was also a moment when Basral was caught on camera typing a message on his cell phone during the match.
“Actually, it’s like just telling me when I’ve finished the first run, then I say, ‘Just two more runs, darling’, that’s what I said,” said Basral regarding the message to his girlfriend.
After SEA Games gold, Basral is aiming for another podium at a higher level event.Asia and world levels are being targeted.
“Next target is to become champion of the Asian Games, continue to be able to go to the Olympics, get medals too,” he said.
