Rain occurred in the Denpasar City area from Saturday (13/12) afternoon to Sunday (14/12) morning.As a result, the water overflowed and submerged residents’ houses at a height reaching as high as an adult’s shoulders.The activities of residents around the location were paralyzed.
“Apart from carrying out evacuations, our officers also regulate traffic flow around the flood location and advise residents to remain alert to the potential for subsequent flooding, considering that rain still has the potential to fall,” said West Denpasar Police Chief Commissioner Laksmi Trisnadewi, Sunday (14/12) afternoon.

A joint team was alerted to assist with the evacuation process of residents in Block IV of the Buana Permai neighborhood, especially the elderly, children and sick residents.A number of residents were forced to stay on the second floor of their houses.
Meanwhile, as many as 7 heads of families (KK) were evacuated by Denpasar City BPBD officers using rubber boats to a safe place.
The water level is as high as an adult’s shoulders and is said to be dangerous for those who cannot swim.So officers prioritize evacuating vulnerable residents and continue to monitor water discharge conditions.
“There are no reports regarding casualties. All residents from 7 families in the flood location have been evacuated safely to a safe place using rubber boats. Joint officers are still on standby at the location while waiting for the water to recede and anticipating if further flooding occurs,” he said.
