Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz in a joint statement also said Saad was killed in an Israeli operation launched in response to “a Hamas bomb blast that injured our troops today in the Yellow Area of the Gaza Strip.”
Netanyahu and Katz described Saad as “one of the architects” of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack.
Tel Aviv’s military previously reported two of its reservists were injured by “an explosive device that detonated during an operation to clear terrorist areas and infrastructure in southern Gaza”.
Meanwhile, civil defense agencies and medical sources in the Hamas-controlled Palestinian territories said that the Israeli attack on Tel Al-Hawa killed five people, instead of one.
The five people died after Israeli warplanes attacked civilian vehicles near the Nabulsi roundabout.
An agency spokesman said the “charred” dead were taken to Al Shifa hospital after the attack.According to him, this attack also injured more than 25 people.
“The fighter plane fired several missiles at the vehicle until it caught fire,” said a witness, who declined to be named.
“Residents rushed to extinguish the fire. The charred body parts of the victims were scattered on the ground,” he continued.
Israel and Hamas are currently in a ceasefire. However, the agreement that has been in effect since October 10 is very fragile because Israel continues to violate it by continuing to launch attacks on Gaza.
More than 300 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed since the ceasefire took effect.
