alias Gus Yahya opens his voice regarding the removal and replacement of the top leadership of Tanfidziyah or the chair of the General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (
PBNU
).
The PBNU Syuriah Plenary Meeting which was held at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (9/12) evening, appointed KH Zulfa Mustofa as Acting (Pj) General Chair of the PBNU replacing Gus Yahya.
Meanwhile, Gus Yahya’s camp previously claimed that the majority of PBNU functionaries rejected the discourse of impeaching the general chairman and stated that they obeyed the call of the NU Elders and Mustasyar Forum which called for the organizational conflict to be stopped and resolved.

Previously, the Elders and Mustasyar Forum who gathered at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School on December 6 emphasized that the decision of the Syuriah Daily Meeting to impeach the General Chair was invalid because it conflicted with the NU AD/ART.
Amin said the rejection of the majority of administrators was reflected in the PBNU Plenary Meeting at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday night.Of the total 216 plenary members who were supposed to attend, only 58 people came, around 26 percent, far from the minimum quorum limit.
From the data he obtained, the Mustasyar element was only attended by 2 out of 29 people, Syuriah 20 out of 53 people, Tanfidziyah 22 out of 62 people, and A’wan 7 out of 40 people.Of the PBNU institutions, only 5 of the 18 institutions were present, while the Autonomous Body (Banom) was only 2 of the 14 Banom.
“This means that more than three-quarters of members chose not to attend, a strong signal that the impeachment move does not have broad support within PBNU,” he said.
The Plenary Meeting on December 9 was held following up on the December 2 invitation which contained the agenda for appointing the PBNU General Chairperson without involving the active General Chairperson.
However, the Elders and Mustasyar Forum have called for the agenda to be temporarily stopped, pending resolution of organizational issues in accordance with the AD/ART mechanism.
Meanwhile, KH Zulfa Mustofa said he did not want to be part of the past conflict after being officially appointed as General Chair of Tanfidziyah PBNU replacing Gus Yahya who had been removed.
Zulfa was appointed as General Chair of PBNU based on a Plenary meeting initiated by Syuriah PBNU at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (9/12) evening.
In a press conference near midnight, Zulfa said he wanted to be a solution for NU’s future.
“I also said that I don’t want to be part of the conflict of the past. But I want to be a solution for this jam’iyah for the future,” said Zulfa in his first statement after the appointment.
He said that his current position is an honor on the one hand, but also a great trust on the other hand.
Zulfa admitted that he was determined to run the NU organization in the remaining management period until 2026.
The nephew of the former PBNU Rais Aam who is also the 13th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin, said he would carry out a difficult task.
First, he admitted that he wanted to normalize the wheels of the organization up to the Congress.He also invited all PBNU administrators and NU congregations to unite again.
“Let’s reunite in our big house. Because the NU community has been saddened by this uncertainty for a long time,” he said.
