West Sumatra Provincial Government
(West Sumatra) extends the disaster emergency response period

Vasko said that the extension of the emergency response period was taken because the process of searching for victims was still ongoing in the field.
“The search is still ongoing, data collection on victims and damage is still ongoing. Because of this, we are extending the emergency response period so that treatment can be carried out more optimally,” he said.
As of this afternoon, the total number of victims of floods and landslides was recorded as 234 people who died, 95 people were missing and 113 others were injured.Apart from that, it was recorded that 24,049 people were displaced.
Of the total 16 affected areas, there were three areas without fatalities or injuries, namely Payakumbuh City, Pasaman Regency, and Limapuluh Kota Regency.
“The most victims were in Agam Regency, with 151 people dead and 55 people missing. A number of residents there also fled again because of the moderate intensity rain that fell again,” explained Vasko.
